Olabisi Fakeye is a fifth generation of the Fakeye dynasty of wood carvers who all hail from Ila Orangun in Osun State. He trained directly under Lamidi Fakeye the most renowned of the lineage who was Bisi's paternal uncle.

He relocated to Lagos in the early 1970s and became one of the arrowheads that consolidated the gains of the Universal Studios inside the National Theatre Complex, Iganmu, Lagos.

In Lagos, he created a style for himself and moved away from the traditional canon to a more modernist style. This was a significant breakaway from the lineage's long tradition and offered a fresh approach. Sadly, he passed on 2017.

He left quite a number of creative legacies including those of the images on display.
