A foremost printmaker who hails from Agbara-Otor in Delta State of Nigeria, Bruce Onobrakpeya has consistently used the Urhobo forms and motifs alongside other Nigerian indigenous art forms to promote African identity in a globalized world.
A graduate of the famous Zaria art school, Bruce was one of the remarkable members of the Zaria Art Society that redefined the theoretical framework for their artistic explorations.
Multiple award winner, Bruce has to his credit numerous recognitions and awards from virtually all over the world including the recent Nigerian National Order of Merit Award (NNOM) conferred on him by President Mohammad Buhari of Nigeria in 2017.
